1.
International Certificate in Landscape Design (Full-time or Part-time)
- 2012
Offered on a full-time basis during the week on an easy monthly payment
plan or can be done on a part-time basis on Saturdays.
How Does the Full-time Programme
Work?
This 20 month full-time programme covers the complete spectrum of
Introductory and Advanced courses; a total of 20 courses with variable
numbers of days for each course.
A selective and pre-screening interview is done for the
enrolment of full-time students by the Principal and management staff
of the College.
The full-time course is run during weekdays and normally
three days a week from 09h00 to 16h00. The other two days are for
homework or project work. A week is normally given between
courses for projects and homework to be completed at the student’s own
pace at home.
The courses not only include lectures, workshops,
practicals and outings, we also do extensive display within the
Lifestyle nursery. This allows great opportunity to experiment and
learn from the experience. Practicals and outings are used
extensively in the Advanced course to demonstrate and enhance the
learning experience.
All courses are assessed by projects which are started in
the classroom and completed at home. As this is outcomes based,
no written assessments are done.
A student will need to complete all the introductory
courses first before moving onto the Advanced courses, with the
exception of Lawn Management and Pruning which are held at seasonal
times of the year.
Each Advanced course focuses on a different design style
and ensures that the designer is able to design any style that the
client requires.
The ultimate practical is the show gardens which are
designed and built by the students. This is an opportunity for the
students to showcase their learning at the College. The show gardens
are visited by over 100 000 people.

How Does the Part-time Programme
Work?

part-time programme runs on Saturdays and operates exactly the same as
the full-time programme. The part-time course is suitable for
people who are looking to change their careers whilst still working or
for the gardener who wants to improve their skills.
This course, however, takes longer to complete as it is only one day a
week.

Overview
Working to your Life Purpose is a series of workshops that is based on “The Artists Way™” by Julia Cameron. Everyone is born creative; creativity is not for the lucky or the few, however it is for those who are prepared to make the effort in connecting with their creative selves. Creativity is a way of life, not just an act but a being.
Working to your Life Purpose provides tools and ideas on how to live in a creative way, how to discover and recover the creative self and apply this in both personal and professional lives.
Why is this so important? We are living in what has been termed “The Creative Era”. Both personal and professional lifestyles require a creative approach in order to better meet the challenges currently being experienced in our fast and uncertain world. Research overseas has shown that people who are creative have less stress, more stable relationships and adapt to change positively, resulting in a better quality of lifestyle.
When you step into your creativity you start to live your life purpose. And what is your life purpose? Only you can answer that once you stop accepting “The Suckers Choice” where you feel you have to make either/or decisions and you begin to work with your birthright – that of freedom of choice.
We are both the artist and the art – we are the created and the creators. Working to your life purpose will assist in breaking down the barriers that prevent you from showing your true creative potential. You will discover that you are co-creator in your own world. Whether you wish to utilize this creativity in the workspace or at home, the workshop provides you with the tools to do so.
